Biomedical Engineering Laboratories

Welcome to Biomedical engineering lab facilities at king Abdul-Aziz University (KAU) in electrical and computer engineering department .

The BME lab is located on 3rd floor in Engineering building A40 in rooms ( 34C36 , 34C69, and 34C27)

The lab is divided into three parts as follow:

  • Biomedical Instrumentation Lab located in room 34C36
  • Biomedical Engineering Support Room located in room 34C27
  • Biomedical Engineering Systems Lab located 34C69

The Biomedical Engineering Lab Facilities serve the core course in undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering degree. Also it serves the senior design projects for BME major students and ECE or other engineering department that has a biomedical application and needed a facility to run experiments and get support on their senior design project.

The core courses that the Biomedical Engineering Lab serve as follows:

  1. 1- Biomedical engineering primer (EE370)

    The BME lab serve biomedical engineering primer course by performing experiments on different topics covered in the course such as:

    1.   a) Electro-Cardiography ECG-I BioPac Lesson 5
    2.   b) Electro-Cardiography ECG-II BioPac Lesson 6
    3.   c) Electro-Myography EMG-I BioPac Lesson 1
    4.   d) Electro-Myography EMG-II BioPac Lesson 2
    5.   e) Electro-Encephalography EEG-I BioPac Lesson 3
    6.   f) Electro-Encephalography EEG -II BioPac Lesson 4
    7.   g) Electro-Oculography EOG BioPac Lesson 10
    8.   h) ElectroDermal Activity EDA BioPac Lesson 9

  2. 2- Biomedical Signals and systems (EE470)

    The BME lab serve signal and system course by performing experiments on different topics covered in the course such as:

    1.   a) Perform experiment on The design of common analog filter families
    2.   b) Perform experiment on Signal Sampling Using Arduino
    3.   c) Perform experiment on Analog Signal Recovery From Digital Samples
    4.   d) Perform experiment on ECG Simulator

  3. 3- Biomedical instrumentation (EE471)

    The BME lab serve signal and system course by performing experiments on different topics covered in the course such as:

    1.   a) Perform experiment on Biopotential Amplifiers ( A, B )
    2.   b) Perform experiment on Biopotential Amplifiers (C, D)
    3.   c) Perform experiment on Instrumentation Amplifier
    4.   d) Perform experiment on Biopotential Analog Filters
    5.   e) Perform experiment on Digital Backend for Biomedical Devices (Using Arduino Mega2560 Board)
    6.   f) Perform experiment on Digital Backend (Arduino)
