The internship program is a collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering at King Abdulaziz University and industry. The student joins the industry to train on the job in a field related to their specialization as full-time employees.
The college started the practical training program in 2008 after the recommendation of the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) and the high demand from students. The practical training is divided into two types: Summer training, which is mandatory for all students of the College of Engineering and is equivalent to two credit hours. It can be completed in any semester and lasts from 8 to 12 consecutive weeks in a company or institution related to the student’s specialization. As for the cooperative training program, it is an elective course (8 credit units/hours). The cooperative training program will be equivalent to two elective courses (each course is 3 credit units/hours and two hours for the summer training equivalency). Passing the summer/cooperative training requirements (please refer to the main study plan).
The beginning of the semester preceding the training semester, for example, if his training is in the second semester, he must start applying from the beginning of the first semester.
To obtain a training opportunity, the student can start by corresponding at the beginning of the semester preceding the training semester with companies and institutions that have a similar nature to the specialization (all students have an EXCEL list of a huge group of companies and institutions, and it is circulated in student groups according to the specialization). It is best to send 50 to 100 emails and attach a CV and TRANSCRIPT.
If you receive an initial response from the correspondence, fill out the form. Support Letter
Print this form that you receive by email to have it signed by the training coordinator (Dr. Lotfi Al-Adhar, Office 05C24) and send it back to the institution to prepare the training contract If you receive the final approval or the training contract, I hope you print a hard copy and give it to the training coordinator in the department to register the course in the OUDs and appoint the academic supervisor after the approval of the head of the department.
