Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

    The Department of Electrical Engineering at King Abdulaziz University was established in 1394 H (1975 G). In 1407H the name of the Department of Electrical Engineering was changed to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The department consists of four branches: Electric Power and Machines Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering.

    The department primarily aims to produce high-caliber engineers in the aforementioned four fields of Electrical and Computer Engineering to work for governmental and industrial agencies in the Kingdom and the Gulf area.

    All programs within the department hold accreditation from both ABET and NCAAA, ensuring high standards of quality and rigor in education. This dual accreditation signifies the department's commitment to meeting stringent criteria for curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, and continuous improvement, thus providing students with a recognized and respected education in their field of study.
