Welcome to the Electronics and Communications Program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at King Abdulaziz University.
The program established in 1974 alongside the Faculty of Engineering, our department initially offered three programs: Power and Machines Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Computer and Control Engineering. In 1982, we added Biomedical Engineering as a unique specialization, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
Our vision is to be leaders in innovative engineering education, collaborative research, and community service. We strive to provide high-quality education that empowers students to contribute to society through their professional, technical, managerial, communication, teamwork, and research skills.
Our mission is to equip students with essential knowledge and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues in engineering and other fields worldwide. Our graduates are expected to play a vital role in the development of the Kingdom's infrastructure and technology.
We offer Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Our BS degree program has been accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) since September 2003. Our academic programs continuously evolve to meet the changing needs of the local industries and the dynamic field of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Despite our highly selective admission process, undergraduate enrollment continues to grow, reflecting the quality of our programs and the recognition of the importance of electrical engineering for students' futures.
Through our four programs, the Department conducts basic and applied research that addresses the Kingdom's needs. We also provide continuing education courses, technical services, and consulting to both the public and private sectors.
